You don't need to download another copy of Knoppix. Use the one you have. When you start the liveCD, there is a boot prompt about mid-screen. Enter "knoppix lang=us" or "knoppis land=sp" to start in US English or Spanish.

In regards to windows not booting, try using a windows install cd to run fixmbr. If that fails, come back. Others with more current windows experience may be able to help you.

knoppix/windows

Yes leaving cd's in the drive when bios to set to boot from can cause problems. Yes, there seems to be nothing wrong with the knoppix cd just pick English from the choice. Regarding Windows you can use knoppix to do that or a live Ubuntu cd and select the 'boot to first hard drive' option, alternatively there is at least (probably many more) free floppy disk usable program on the net to replace/repair the MBR on windows. If thee above does not work I'll try to find the location. Better still try another live version of linux and, if you like it install over Windows!

Fred.
