not able to unzip and install mysql server in fedora 16.


i have downloaded mysql server (/MySQL/abi/MySQL-shared-5.0.96-1.glibc23.i386.rpm) which i am not able to extract and install.I cannot be the root user.Can i install this server without being the root user??
Please reply as basically as possible as i am new to linux.

You can read the installation here or "Installing MySQL from RPM Packages on Linux",
because
