Not able to install Linux
 
Hi all,
I am not able to Install any flavour of linux on my laptop.Few version wont detect my harddisk,few gives me error and ubantu is getting Installed but when I login to Ubantu it wont get booted properly and I have to format and reintall Windows Xp again for working.
Laptop configuration are as below :
Processor : Intel Dualcore
Harddisk : 160 GB
RAM : 2 GB

We can't help you if you don't provide exactly what you tried and exactly what errors you got. Pick a distro, install it, and write down what goes wrong, then post that here. This is actually much more important and much more useful to us than the hardware information; all of that is pretty generic and if you were having hardware problems, it'd be from something way more specific than that.

Welcome to LQ!

You could try some 'LiveCDs' from 'The LiveCD List'. I would suggest 'Knoppix' first.
Post any errors or information when you have a problem.
