Now let me get this clear, you have installed (vSphere client, vCenter Server) or VMware on your windows server 2008?
As far as I know VMware itself is an OS and cannot be installed as client software on different OS.

Now this Red Hat 5.1 you are talking about is one of the vm in your VMware server?
and why do you want NAT to connect to internet or is there something you have missed to inform us?

First clarify these things so that I can help you further with your doubts

I still donot understand, I think yo need to get clear about different terms you are using to describe yourself

Well talking about problem internet connection go to RHEL machine and check the eth0 file

post the output of this command

Code:

#less /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
also show me your logs after you do a network restart

Code:

#tail -20 /var/log/messages

Make the following changes

Go to vmware workstation->VM->Settings->Network Adapter -> Bridged(replicate)

once you are done give static IP to your Linux machine and restart the services

hello Sir..

Sorry for being late reply, actually i was little unwell..
i had follow your instruction and did same thing, and now services are showing ok everything..
But you have mention that i have to configure a static ip address,so when i check my window network property, there was two Vmware network adopter available their, and the ip address of both adopter detail is 192.168.X.X and 192.167.228.X ,so i have to use any one ip address between these two or some else...please advice me ????????

deep27ak 11-27-2012 04:26 AM

you have to use the range of IP which comes under your main network i.e which you use to connect to internet. You should know better about that.
Any how you should use the IP range shown under " Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet".
