not able to browse internet.


hi i am a newbie on linux. i am working on centOS 5,have a DSL broadband internet connection.it says connected! when i establish the link but i am not able to browse any site.

iconfig output:-

What are the outputs of

/sbin/route -n

and

cat /etc/resolv.conf

?

Well, I can see that your computer is configured to use PPP over Ethernet. (PPPoE). Past that, I'm in the dark. I've never used it before. If you change the subject of your post to requesting PPPoE help, I suspect that you'll find someone who is a little more knowledgeable about it.

How did u configure your pppoe?

Try doing
$ pppoeconf

and set up ur account again.

got it!!
configured with adsl-setup and now everything is working fine.
did not understand what was the problem with pppoe-setup?
