not able to boot with newkernel


hi experts....

I have fedora 9 installed on my machine..I tried to install linux-2.6.25.14 kernel on the system as follows:

make menuconfig
make
make install

when i tried to boot the system through the new kernel 2.6.25.14 it is giving following error:

unable to access resume device /dev/sda9
mount:could not find file system /dev/root
setuproot: moving /dev failed :No such file or directory
setuproot:error mounting /proc:No such file or directory
setuproot:error mounting /sys:No such file or directory
mount fialed for selinuxfs on /selinux:No such file or directory
switchroot:mount failed:No such file or directory

I not getting what to do

can anyone please help me.......

The steps you described don't "install" a new kernel. You normally would install/update it through YUM, and do the make menuconfig to select/deselect the various kernel modules from there.

Where did you run the make commands as above? How did you get the new kernel?
