Noob request

Well, I'm getting started win Linux and I'd like to ask something:

Is there a glossary where I can get the meaning of usually used therms on Linux?

Well, if you talk about .exe extension files for Windows, I know what you're talking about but in Linux business...

Is the a "dictionary" on line I can read?

By the way: does anyone now a list of windows->linux programs?
Like: Photoshop (win) -> The Gimp (linux)

Thanks!

Loads of Linux documentation can be found at the Linux Documentation Project's website.

Pay it a visit at http://www.tldp.org .

Good luck,
