Noob needs help w/ Wine

Hi, I installed Wine on RH 7.2. The Wine installed said it was for 7.3, but I downloaded the dependencies and the PRM ran fine. How do I get started from here? It's not a dual boot w/ Windows, so I don't have any .exe files on other volumes. Does the standard install of wine install a few by default?

I tried the command 'wine notepad' thinking it might be installed somewhere. I got these errors:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
X11drc: Can't open display: :0
Please ensure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.

Ok, any ideas on these errors? Could it be that I installed a 7.3 RPM on 7.2? How can I check to see if I have X11 installed? I tried which X11, and nothing was found. Do I need to install it first?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info, I'm running gnome, so I imagine it's already installed and configured. Can you help with the other questions?

Does Wine pre-install any apps (exe) that I can use to test?
Any ideas about those errors on the previous post?

Thanks again.

If you've got Gnome running, you've got X11.

As for programs already installed by wine.. try 'notepad' or 'regedit' (not 'wine notepad' or 'wine notepad')
