no XF86Config file
I just installed Nvidia drivers for my graphics card, and I have to edit the XF86Config file in /etc/X11/ in order to get them to work, but the XF86Config isn't there. I ran a full search for the file and it isn't on my system at all.
So I go to run xf86config in /usr/X11R6/bin ... and it isn't there either. I'm confused as to why there is no XF86Config file in the first place, seeing as how I have been running X Windows with KDE before I decided to upgrade to the Nvidia drivers. I'm running Slackware 10, and it is installed on my Dell laptop. Thanks in advance. |
In 10.0 we don't have xfree86. We use xorg. /etc/X11/xorg.conf. It's nearly (for me) the same.

Ahhh... they tricked me! Thanks a bunch! =)

When you'll install nVidia drivers, then you'll be victorious :)
