No wireless. No network devices available

Hey guys and gals,
First of all I am an EXTREME newbie. I recently installed linux 10 "Julia" onto my Dell mini 10 and am not able to connect to wireless and it also says "no network devices available". My old windows os crashed so that's why I got a new harddrive and installed linux. Wireless worked before crash. I know how to enter things into the terminal if I need to provide more info. Again, I am a super newbie so it could be a very simple thing to enable my wireless card or something. Linux is just very foreign to me at this point.

Any help would be amazing,
Thanks!

Hi,

I think you must be running Linux Mint 10. If so, this is an old unsupported operating system released in 2010 and obsolete since 2012. You are likely to have better luck if you use a current, supported OS. The latest version of Linux Mint is 16.

After installing a current OS, post back if you still encounter problems.

Cheers,

Evo2.

Yes mint 10. The problem is I have no Internet connection and only a cd drive so I can't install the larger os of the new mint. My computer is 6 years old so I wouldn't think his would be a problem recognizing my wireless hardware, or maybe it's a software issue idk. But anyway I guess I'll try finding a way to get the newest mint version
