[SOLVED] No synaptics properties on device 'SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad'

Hi all,

Instead, you are getting the following libinput driver being used (hance more basic functionality)
(II) Using input driver 'libinput' for 'SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad'
I'm not sure about the cause though.
Thanks for that important piece of info. I consequently found this and simply uninstalled xserver-xorg-input-libinput, rebooted and synaptics loaded and works again. No errors running synclient either. All is well.

Thanks to ondoho and ferrari for all your help in all this.

Glad to have been of help, and happy that it is now working with the synaptics driver. I've learned something too. There seems to be a move towards using libinput (in development) over synaptics where it exists it would seem. I've read a couple of Fedora threads and developer discussions describing similar, but hadn't quite connected the dots myself.

I just assumed that your touchpad was not being considered as synaptics compatible. This may help others too.
