No suitable ramdisk generation tool ?

this is a debian related question.
when i try to install linux-image-2.6.14-2-686-smp using apt-get i get the error in the subject line.
install some packages (initrd-tools,yaird...etc) after searching google. but still get the same error when try to install that linux image.
is there anyone who met this problem before and found a solution ?
help me please.
what should i do ?
which 'package(s)' my system needs to achieve this installation ?
Thanks in advance.
Bye

Hi, and welcome to LQ!

No idea what the debian package might be called, but the
tool is mkinitrd

Cheers,
Tink

Not sure why it's asking for yaird, but the initrd-tools package should be available to install right out of the Debian repositories.

# apt-get install initrd-tools
