no sound on suse 9.1
 

I just installed suse 9.1 on my computer. There is no sound in any program. I have a creative sound blaster audigy. how do i fix it. someone please help.

Is the card a retail (ie made by and supplied by creative) or is it OEM (ie made by someone like dell) i got burnt with a dell system, thought it had a proper soundblaster card but it was their own version, 'slightly' modified so the standard linux drivers wouldn't work, the only solution i found was getting a proper soundcard (retail/supported by Linux) or a new motherboard with onboard sound :0

sorry not much help.

there are some proprietry drivers out there but i heard they weren't that good
