No sound in Redhat 9 xmms

I just started using redhat 9 and I installed the mp3 plugin. It worked fine for about 10 minute then I closed xmms and reloaded it and now no sound plays.
It says:
1. Make sure you have the correct output selected.
2. Make sure no other programs are blocking the sound.
3. Make sure your soundcard is configured properly.
Any help?

Open XMMS, thnen click on the tiny O next to the time display on the top left, then click on "preferences". Check the audio output plugin and make sure it's set to ALSA (if that's what you're using anyway) or even try out each plugin. If all fails, make sure that there really isn't another program blocking the sound.. Good luck
