No Sound in Flashplayer

hello I'm having trouble with the sound in flashplayer sound works in vlc, amarok doesn't seem to work either same as flash. So I googled around and found this post...http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...e-11.1-705366/
now doing the "chmod" seems to work sometimes and only while I'm using suse..once I boot into windows the changes are lost. Alright so I try the other suggestion in the post and "as root copy the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplayer.so to /usr/lib/firefox3.0.5/plugins" except the plugins folder doesn't seem to exsist...I cant even find the flashplayer.so file. So could anyone help me out on this one an tell me what needs to be done to get this fixed? thanks

To make the chmod persistent try putting the complete statment in your /etc/rc.local

This will then apply the chmod each time you start your machine...

The link provided by OP mentioned:

Doing "chmod a+rx mozilla" as root in /usr/lib *seems* to have fixed it. :-)
I don't think file permissions in /usr/lib are volatile. Just doing that once should fix the issue permanently (if that is the real fix). There shouldn't be any need to add to /etc/rc.local.

ok but it seems to be random sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It also seems for some odd reason, to go hand in hand with amarok if sound works in Flash it does in amarok and vice versa...VLC is oddly enough not effected. So first things first, where should I began to fix all of this?

Then this chmod is not the fix - its just coincidental. Typically this could be due to multiple sources trying to play at the same time or not exiting cleanly when closed - you'll have to do some googling based on your distribution to see if this is a prevalent issue and/or any known bugs exist. Once you are down to something specific, you can check here.
