Hi sinisterman, Welcome to lq. Have you checked your mixer settings?
Good luck. ;-)

I seem to have 3 that are installed. AlsaMixer, Xtmix, sGmixer. Alsa I guess has to do with drivers, I have tried each one that it has come up with but none have helped. The last two mixers I cannot access for some reason, I click on them in the menu but nothing comes up.

What are you using to play cds? Do you have flash installed? What browser are you using, name and version?
Good luck. ;-)

Using gzine 0.5.9 for DVD. XfreeCD v0.9.0.1 for audio. Right now I am using seamonkey for my browser 1.1.8. Not sure weather flash is installed or not.

What are the permissions on the drive? Can root or su hear DVD's or CD's? To check for the flash plugin type the following in the url bar of the browser.
Code:

Good luck. ;-)

I have same problem. You ask

Oh sorry I see now that his is posted in Linux - Newbie while me did
the search within Puppy forum on LQ. I apology for my remark here:

Do you have Puppy? Puppy is root if one have a Live CD or DVD or a Multi-Session
DVD as I have. I have also done the ALSA wizard and all looks ok but no sound.

So could more people suggest things. How did you good people get it going unless
it did it from scratch? I have Realtek on my box.
