no sound

I have installed Fedora Core 1.0 on it's own drive. The system is set up for dual boot. No audio device is detected.

After poking around with the Hardware Browser here's the information I have:

Sound Card: cs4236B:WSS/SB manufacturer: unknown Driver: ad1848
Unknown Device: cs4236B: ctrl manufacturer: unknown Driver ns558

In addition sinceI installed Fedora I no longer haveany sound when I boot into the Windows NT partition.

Any wisdom?

Thanks,
Jordon

This should be the Crystal Semiconductor CS4236B which uses the sound module. Try searching on www.google.com/linux as I found many pages and hits discussing this sound card and getting it to work on Linux.

You could try out alsa drivers www.alsa-project.org
Your windows should not be affected by linux maybe the soundcard is broken
