no proper boot media found error. Cannot boot pc.

I have a multi-booted pc that contains Kali Linux and Windows 7.I wanted to install android-x86 too so, I wanted to create a partition. I tried it but the windows disk management utility didn't let me too. It said something like "maximum partition exceeded". So, I downloaded EASEUS partition management tool and created a 30gb partition. When I restarted the pc, it said "grub rescue mode:". I was terrified so, I booted in the windows system recovery disk, but what I found was my windows 7 didn't show up, anyway I continued with the recovery options. I went with the cmd and typed:
Code:

Bootrec /fixmbr
Bootrec /fixboot

the fix mbr completed successfully but fixboot did not. So, I restarted the pc and it showed something like "SYS LINUX no syste UI found" and boot: in the bottom.
After a few days it has turned like:
No proper boot device/media found
and I cannot boot the pc.
I have even viewed the state of the hard disk by a live cd and the HDD is working fine.
Pleade if anyone has any idea help me!!!!

You should re-install grub.
Many guides searching google like this one

yancek 06-08-2016 11:47 AM

Is your system an MBR install with a limit of four primary partitions? If that's the case, you would need to remove one of the partitions and then resize (shrink) one of your partitions to create unallocated space on which to put Android.

Where did you create the partition? Did you change the Kali partition by moving it? You might try downloading and running the bootinfoscript and posting the output here so we have some useful information on your system.

bikal 06-08-2016 09:14 PM

I cannot boot the pc. Every time I open the pc it says "no proper boot device found"
I am not being able to boot into the hard disk. As, I am a newbie would you all make the steps a bit wide so that newbies like me can understand.
Thanks for the replies.

If you can boot from a Linux Live CD as you indicated in your initial post, you should at least post some drive/partition info using the Fdisk -l command as root.

michaelk 06-08-2016 11:04 PM

A few details missing but when you ran EASEUS you deleted kali which is why you saw the grub rescue mode prompt. You also might of deleted some or all of windows since windows failed to boot after you ran the fixmbr command. Will assume your drive is not formatted as GPT. The curious part is why you saw the syslinux error which is not part of grub or windows boat loaders so what else did you try that you have not told us about?

And now there is no boot loader which is why you see the no proper boot device found. Your going to have to boot the live CD and download the bootinfo script. Need to save and post the results. Seeing the output of fdisk -l would be the first step...

Instantly delete every file related to EaseUS partitioner it is a total malware software don't use it ever. For your problem try the windows partitioner to partition it and for making a bootable stick try rufus or the command promt. Then your another problem which states that the bootable media not found well after selecting the install option then advanced GUI install option when that "bootable media not found " then take out the bootable stick then put it again I guess it is going to solve your problem!!

I think Aritra Kundu is right. Maybe EASEUS partition manager is a malware software because i hadn't done any thing except for the things I have posted.
I haven't gone detailed except for the windows system recovery disk part but as you ask for it, I will have to. When I booted up Windows repair disk it started to scan for available OS. But it couldn't find my windows 7 anyway I continued through the repair options. I selected command prompt and typed the above commands. Bootec /Fixmbr worked (as it said command completed successfully.) but Bootrec /Fixboot didn't work (as it said command completed unsuccessfully). But I continued and restarted my pc and it showed "SYS linux no system UI found" with a "Boot : "(something like this maybe for typing the commands). I left my pc unopened for maybe 3 days and when I reopened my pc, I got the above error i.e "NO proper boot device found"

Thanks guys for your replies..
As your were asking for the drive/partition info using the fdisk -l command. Here it is...

Actually I was a victim of that malware software ..... so at last did it work out?

yancek 06-09-2016 07:20 AM

You have several windows partitions and one Linux partition so that may be where your Kali install is or was. But since you don't know what changes were made or how, we're left to guess. Getting the bootinfoscript, running it and posting the output would be the next logical step. You may just need to reinstall Grub but there is not way to tell without more information.

Shadow_7 06-09-2016 09:54 AM

$ cat /proc/partitions

If you have a bootable usb install with grub on it, you can boot it and run update-grub to add menu items for bootable OSes of your drive on the usb's bootloader. And then boot the usb install and select your OS. Various ways depending on the state of things.

You might check if the bios is set to legacy/csm as it might only work with MBR style partitioning with those settings. Depending on your motherboard and bios. I have an early UEFI system that wont boot GPT partitioned drives at all. Along with a few other annoyances with that system.

bikal 06-10-2016 05:22 AM

Sorry for the late reply.
How do I get the bootinfoscript and run it ?

yancek 06-10-2016 07:57 AM

The script is on the page below, download or copy and paste to an empty text file on your Linux system (Live CD, flash drive) and make it executable.

Instructions on use at this link.

Thanks for the reply.
I ran the bootinfoscript and got the following result in the terminal:
Code:
