no mouse on mandrake 10.1

I've installed Mandrake 10.1 over the top of XP on an older machine. My PS/2 mouse was working fine before/during the install but once I finished and rebooted, it wouldn't see my mouse (logitech 3 button). I tried another PS/2 generic 3 button mouse and then an Acer optical USB mouse and all got to the same point at logon, I would have no mouse. I tried upgrading/reinstalling Mandrake to change the setting to the USB mouse but still, while the system "sees" it during the install process, it doesn't once I've got to logon. I can tab thru logon to get to the desktop, but still the mouse doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

I've had a couple of people with this problem with mdk 10.1
Try symlinking /dev/mouse to /dev/mouse0

Code:

ln -s /dev/mouse0 /dev/mouse

or edit you /etc/X11/XF86Config file and change the /dev/mouse line to /dev/psaux or vice versa
