No Module Buslogic found for kernel 2.6.9

Hey All,

have probs with my kernel update. Here's the jist:

I have redhat 9 kernel 2.4.20 fresh install. I want to learn how to update the kernel so, I am trying the newest stable release. I tried 2.6.8.1, but I had no luck, so I figure I might as well try 2.6.9. Anyway...

make menuconfig <- loaded old config kernel-2.4.20-i386.config
* Ext3 Journalling file system support

make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
make install <- Error
No module Buslogic found for kernel 2.6.9
mkinitrd failed
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make: *** [install] Error 2

I have tried with scsi low-level buslogic as M as N and as * with no luck. Not quite sure what else to try. Ideas?

Thanks!

Are you using VMWare? You will need to run script in order to complete kernel install. the script I USE IS: /usr/lib/vmware/BusLogic/vmware-buslogic-config

Notice the thread date! Six years and things have changed a lot in that time.
