Angry "No kernel packages were installed... Boot loader will not be changed..." error messa

I previously used BootMagic 7 to load Linux, which BootMagic 8 doesn't do, or at least I can't get it to. I tried to install GRUB from the RedHat installation CD but got an error message that says "No kernel packages were installed you your system. Your boot loader config will not be changed." Is there an easier way to get GRUB installed? Preferably on the /boot partition and not the master boot record. I have a dual WinXP/RedHat 9 machine.
