[SOLVED] no internet connection in fedora 16

Hi, I'm Anubhab Banerjee, a newbie here..my laptop is hp pavilion dv4 and my operating system is fedora 16..i surf internet using datacard of beetel..previouly it would show mobile broadband in network settings option whenever i used to connect the modem..but of late it shoes no option and i cannot surf internet as it is not showing any such option..plzz tell me what i should do..

before you go any farther
fedora 16 is about to go " End Of Life"
and "should" have already done so

30 days after fedora 18 is officially released fedora 16 becomes dead
-- this should be on Jan. 08 2013 - in about one month

so using fedora 17 ( or ) next month installing fedora 18
is a good idea

dose this usb dongle ( guessing this is a usb modem) work on other operating systems or other hardware ??

as in dose the it work

Are you able to connect from windows? Are you sure that you haven't used up all of what your plan allows? Have you tried recharging it? Unless you did something to network manager, very little should go wrong with your internet settings. I use a BSNL modem myself and have had no problem, although I'm on fedora 17 not 16.
