Question No hdlist error

No hdlist error during partitioning.
I am really stuck, and need an answer.
I am trying to install mandriva on an athlon1800. no matter what I do I am stuck at partitioning. I get the error no hdlist.
My setup is an athlon1800 with 3 hard drives. An 8 gig and tw0 4 gig drives plus the cdrom, on a Gigabyte board. ĺ gig of ram
I have xp on the first drive (8 gig) and the other two are up for grabs. XP takes 5+ gigs.
I wish to install linux on the free drives.
My other computer is running windows 2000 and I have an nt4srvr. I have current ghost images of every thing so I have no worry about blowing things up. I can just re-image.
I have even tried wipeing out all partitions on all drives and tiring to partition both auto and manually. Still get no hdlist. And thatís as far as I can go. So I have re-imaged with my current xp image.
At this time I cant go out and buy a bigger drive. Strapped for cash really bad or I would.
I would be very grateful for an answer. Thanks

Your installation media is probably corrupt or its not playing along nicely with your cd or dvd drive. Try burning another set of discs or a dvd at a low speed.

Thanks for your help. I had downloaded the ISO files several times from different sites. Different errors with each one. Downloaded again from the link provided on this site. I also made my cd a different way this time. I did not use a floppy boot image. Burned cd from ISO in my burner. Not sure which of those 2 was the problem but now I am dual booting both XP and Mandrake 10.1.
Now the real learning begins. Thanks for your help raddazz.
I am sure I will be posting more questions. Have been study the post on here a lot already.
