I'm using mandrake 8.1. I start up and i'm pretty sure it's starting up in x windows. There is no mouse cursor during start up then the linux console comes up and asks for a login. I tried alt-F7 to see if i was on the wrong screen...but i could only change through the 6 consoles. help, plese.
what happens if you try to login? have you tried that at all? is it at a black terminal command screen upon bootup, if it is, go ahead and login, then use startx to get into the GUI
well i had already tried to log in and nothing, i stayed in console mode. Thank you for replying, but i somehow managed to fix my problem AND get my usb mouse to work (oh the joys of xconfig).
