Unhappy no free space on /devhda2

I have while playing with mail run out of space on /dev/hda2

I have trucated some files in /var/log - which I think is on hda2. However DF still shows 0 available

How do I ensure I'm on or deleting files from hda2 and how do I get some space back?

$ mount

This will show you where each disk is mounted.

Well what does df -h say exactly??

Hint: Take a look at your /tmp and /var/cache directories. Cleanup un-needed and installed package updates for one possible idea.

Letting others know which version of *nix your running can be helpful.

I'm on RH 8.0

And df -h reads
/dev/hda2 9.0g 9.1g 0 100 /

I have also been in /tmp and deleted some stuff

We need to know your total disk size and all Linux partitions. I infer from the preceding that /dev/hda2 is mounted at "/". Is there also a data partition? What is in /dev/hda1?
If you have 9GB total for Linux, including data, then it may a be a bit marginal (depending on the kinds of things you do.)
