No display during wake up from "Suspend to RAM" state in MVL

Hi,

I have an x86_64 architecture processor in which I am getting an issue using the “Suspend to RAM” state. I have a Montavista kernel image and an RHEL image. When I use “standby mode”, it is working fine with both the kernel images but when I use Suspend to RAM, MVL kernel is giving an issue.

When I boot up using RHEL, and when I type echo –n mem > /sys/power/state, the system goes in Suspend to RAM state. When I press the Power button, the system wakes up and displays the same screen from where it had suspended. This works fine in this case (with RHEL).

When I boot up using MVL kernel on the same machine and I type echo –n mem > /sys/power/state, the system goes in Suspend to RAM state. When I press the Power button, the system wakes up, we can see LEDs on keyboard and mouse, but on Monitor, there is no display. There is a blank screen on wake up. There is not even the resolution values on screen “1280x1024” which are generally seen when we switch on the monitor. Which BIOS option or which kernel config option would resolve this issue?

Thanks,
cruiser

I found the necessary instructions to the problem I faced. The file video.txt located at /opt/../Documentation/power/video.txt had the necessary instructions required to answer my queries.
Thanks once again!
