[SOLVED] No dial tone error

Hi all;

Am a Linux newbie;
I am in a process of setting my new FC16 server and am having problems with the modem dialing out. The modem I am using is a DLINK V.92 Analog External Modem. It initilizes but comes up with the following error later on; ATDT1880200, no dial tone trying again in 5 secs.
Don't know what I am doing wrong here.
Please help.

Check the phone cord connection: unplug then replug both ends. Also check the phone line using telephone and check first if there is a carrier signal or dial tone.

Yes; did all you said but all seemed okay so tried editing the wvdial.config file and managed to get it dialing this time.
