no desktop


I have an eee 701sd I originally set it up, downloaded updates and put it away for xmas. I go to get on today and there is no desktop. I get an error messages that there is a broken package. When I try to fix it i got an error message E: /var/cache/apt/archives/asus-acpi-p901_1%
3a1.19-2rtm5_i386.deb: subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 2 HELP PLEASE!!

idea:try to install desktop with these commands

If you are still running the original xandros linux it came with, you can do a "factory restore" by pressing F9 at boot. See its manual.

Then you'll have to reapply the updates (and let it finish).
