No-cd install possible

I might be getting an old box with no-cd and no hard drive and I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy a new disc for it.

Will it be possible to install a distro without a cd-drive? I have no idea how that would work.

I have an other computer running perfectly.. maybe i could run it through there??

Any ideas?

Thanx a lot, but don't waste your time on this, it's just for general infos...

Yes, but is it worth it depends on the age of the PC, its specs like how much RAM and what you want to do with it.

Its possible to install via a network or a hard drive method. With the hard drive method you would need to install it another PC and copy the CDs over. Create a boot floppy disk. Then stick the hard drive back in an do the install.

Thanx.. this gives me an idea of how to work it...

It's an old all included HD
833mhz
64mb ram
it had a 10 gb hard drive i think..

Anyways.. it's basically just for entertainement.. i don't know much about pcs and would like to have one to open up and see what's inside and maybe try different linux distros that i'm too scared to try on my working desktop comp.

Was thinking of buying something like a 10gb hard drive on ebay... Do I have to check for compatibility or do they all work on basically any machi
