NO CARRIER detected in wvdial when using more than one dongle


Hi Team,

Iam using E1731 Huawei TataPhotonMaX data card in CentOS-6.3. I could connect one dongle at a time and working fine. But when i connect second dongle at the same time and try to connect iam getting "NO CARRIER detected" message in the kernel log.

First one connected properly. But second giving the message

NO CARRIER
--> No Carrier! Trying again.
--> Sending: ATDT# 777
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDT# 777
NO CARRIER
--> No Carrier! Trying again.
--> Sending: ATDT# 777
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDT# 777
NO CARRIER
--> No Carrier! Trying again.
--> Sending: ATDT# 777
--> Waiting for carrier.

Please advice me if iam doing anything wrong here.

When you connect using wvdial, do you specify the interface too?

yes. I have specified the interface name

Modem = /dev/ttyUSB3

But still have the same issue.

The reason I ask is that >1 modem in Windows and OSX will create confusion as to which modem to use.
Try using different .conf files for each using the -C option;
Code:
-C, --config=CONFIGFILE Run wvdial with CONFIGFILE as the configuration ...
Are you planning to use them simultaneously? Some carriers deny this use.
