Please try to write more clearly, your question is very hard to follow.
No, your laptop doesn't have compatibility issues with Linux...you haven't set up X windows correctly. With OpenSuSE, you have to manually set up those things, otherwise it won't work correctly, especially with a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor.
Try to boot linux into console-mode only (failsafe), and set up X from there.
I can not help you with the problems you are asking about directly, but I might be able to assist you in presenting a more informed question in terms of your preparation.

digambar, Unfortunately no one with your brand, model or model variants (vgn-cs12gn through vgn-cs18gn) has posted any information on the popular Linux compatibility sites, favorably or otherwise, in regards to a Linux installation. As TB0ne commented this may not be a compatibility issue at all, though. However, when you suspect compatibility to be the problem in the future the sites that could prove helpful include the following. TuxMobil- Sony Linux on Laptops- Sony Hardware4Linux- laptops from Sony
Also, try a few different takes on Google searches such as.
Code:
vgn-cs12gn OR vgn-cs14gn OR vgn-cs15gn OR vgn-cs17gn OR vgn-cs18gn linux compatib*
vgn-cs12gn OR vgn-cs14gn OR vgn-cs15gn OR vgn-cs17gn OR vgn-cs18gn suse
To all forum members, perhaps someone knows of a more sophisticated way of accomplishing the same thing considering that the wild card (*), as Google claims, “works only on whole words, not parts of words.” For instance vgn-cs*gn produces undesired search results.
Also digambar, please try and include punctuation at the end of each concluded thought. This makes reading your question much easier for those trying to help you.
Hi,
I have the same laptop model as Digamabar and I am facing the same problem while trying to install ubuntu 8.04. On trying to install, the message 'loading linux kernel' displays and completes. After that I suppose I should get to the stage of configuring stuff, but instead it displays a black/grey screen with moving vertical stripes as if it were a screen saver. I can see a block of stripes move in the background on moving the mouse. It does not go anywhere after that. I have also tried kubuntu version 6.06 but even this does not work, not even in the live cd mode. I feel the problems have something to do with vaio but have no idea. Can somebody please help?
