no /boot/loader and no /boot/kernel/kernel error message on a free bsd install
No /boot/loader and no /boot/kernel/kernel are the errors that I get after I am installing free bsd onto my server from cd. I am also partitioning in such a way as to make cpanel possible:
/boot 128mb swap 2gb / 2gb /usr 10gb /var 10gb /tmp 1gb /home The rest of the disk for some reason, when I don't use this partitioning scheme, everything works fine, but this is the partitioning scheme that I use for cpanel. If anyone has any ideas or has been through this please let me know. Thank you very much! |
FreeBSD doesn't use a separate boot partition. Partition a is used for / and even with boot included, it usually doesn't grow larger than a couple of hundreds of megabytes. Also it makes more sense to have /tmp and /var precede the usr and home partitions.
