No Active Any key to reboot

Dist: Mandrake 9.2
XP Pro

Partition:
hda3 NTFS
hda5 Linux (/)
hda6 Linux Swap
hda7 Linux (/home)
hda1 (extended - holds 5,6,7)

Boot flag: currently on hda3 (reported by fdisk)

Issue:

through hoops and magic dust, I got my XP system back to where it boots ok - no issues. Had to do a repair, bootcfg /rebuild to get it back to where it boots up now.

I have a linux installation on above linux partitions, but can't get it to boot. If I run lilo, do I want to install on MBR or 1st block of root drive? Is there an easier way to do this?

Ok, I'm a hereitc.

I had similar problems (Debian + NT Pro) and ended up using the NT Loader to boot Linux.

The instructions I used are at home, but I remember that it was targeted to BSD rather than Linux. A quick Google turned this up:

Hope it helps!

I did see that type of solution, but I'm holding out hoping that I can get LILO to work. It was working fine yesterday and then my KDE just went nuts (all menu options were gone)....

I've tried various combinations, and can not get both to be accessible at the same time - I can get WinXP or Linux! I know there has to be something simple I'm missing (I hope!).
