nntp tutorial

can someone tell me where can i find a good tutorial on NNTP ? I've always wanted to learn how to use newsgroups, but I've never found a goot tutorial.. So , anyone knows where can I find one? (based on linux) .. i need to know what programs are used to have nntp, how do you configure them, what news servers there are, etc...

or can someone recommend me a program to use News in linux?

PAN is great application for connecting to UseNet. To learn about UseNet, go to Google, and type in usenet+help.
