Ok. Please bare with me. I am also unable to connect to the internet with my linux workstation/server. I am positive that I have all the proper IP addresses configured for my ethernet card. I am not a novice when it comes to installing networks. I am just a complete novice with Linux. My 1st time. I am running Redhat v.7.3

I am using one of my PCs on the lan to access this forum. So I have to type what I see on my linux machine.

The data in the log.nmbd goes as follows:

[2004/10/21 019:15:24, 0] nmbd/nmbd. c: main(783)
Netbios nameserver version 2.2.3a started.

ERROR: both 'wins support = true' and 'wins server = <server>' cannot be set in the smb.conf file. nmbd aborting.
