NIS and LDAP ?
 

Hi, can someone pls tell me how to attach a system to a network directory service, such as NIS or LDAP?

A system? what system? what for? what kind of information?

It is one of the "must able to's" from the RHCE prep guide.Below is how the RHCE prep guide put's it:

Installation and Configuration

RHCTs must be able to:

* perform network OS installation
* implement a custom partitioning scheme
* configure printing
* configure the scheduling of tasks using cron and at
** attach system to a network directory service, such as NIS or LDAP

in this context it means "know that system-config-authentication tool exists", nothing behind it really. you should know about the nsswitch.conf file too i guess.
