Question Nice Resolution on text mode


Hello..... everyone....
i'm use redhat 9.0 on my pc. i want to know can i change my textmode view like suse textmode or debian text mode. it's look more small font, my monitor is 21" so look very big in my screen. how to change the mode text resolution?

you need to change the framebuffer mode, the bit that says "vga=788" or similar in your lilo.conf or grub,conf file depending on your bootloader. check the framebuffer howto at tldp.org for all the correct mode numbers.

you can use vga=how so that it shows you available modes. I suggest usign vga=791, it's very nice mode (no warranty that it is a supported mode at your machine). This mode doesn't list in my RH9.0 too but it works better that listed modes.
