NFS transfers to various OS's issues

Anyone seen issues using NFS to transfer files, especially over 100 MB in size, to an NFS mount on a different OS? Specifically, Open VMS version 8.2 and using RedHat 2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp. We do not have issues between 2 different boxes with RedHat on them. We are only experiencing issues when using NFS between RedHat and Open VMS, or between AIX and RedHat.

The mount options are the standard ones. We've tried NFS 2 and NFS 3. Transfering files greater than 100 mb brings the system to a halt. There are no issues transfering files between 2 RedHat systems, but when we transfer from or to a Redhat to another OS, the performance degrades to the point of bringing the entire system to a halt. The wait I/O tops out at 100%. This does not happen when transfering between 2 Redhat systems.
