NFS problem

I am using SUSE10.3. I configured my pc as an nfs client. I edited the /etc/fstab file to include a line as

172.16.16.23:/home/share /mnt/share nfs defaults 0 0

When I tried to mount (#mount /mnt/share) the server it says an error as

"mount: mount to NFS server '172.16.16.23' failed: RPC Error: Program not registered."

I could successfully configure other PCs as a nfs clients. The problem is with one of the PC.

Help.

It sounds like the deamon(s) may not be running. Have a look at this tutorial -

http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...rking/Easy_NFS

Near the bottom it tells you to look for the dameons.
Quote:
The daemons needed are nfsd, lockd, statd, mountd, and rquotad.
The rest of the tutorial is easy enough to follow.

Hope this helps.
