NFS Prob
Im currently trying to mount a directory on another machine and keep receiving the following error:
mount: RPC: Remote system error - Connection refused I then ssh to the nfs server, and tried mounting the directory locally, this succeeded without any probs. I think the error is something to do with the firewall, but have not found anything useful in the NFS Howto. Im running redhat8 on both machines. Any help would be appreciated. |
I came across a similar problem on google, and at the end of the thread it appeared to have been sorted out by disabling the firewall. This is not an acceptable action for me.
Just to try it though i disabled the firewall a few mins back and it sort of locked up, but there was no error message, but no mount either. Reactivation of the firewall caused the error message to display. I retried it again and it came up with this: mount: RPC: Timed out thats without a firewall up. |
Stop iptables service it will work!!!!!

Try it by restarting portmap service on NFS Server.
