next step after mounting
 

i am a new member to linux(lubuntu).i use micromax phone (not smart phone).when i connect it to my laptop through usb im not able to view its files as we do in windows even after mounting.how to view the files of the phone connected to my laptop after mounting.give the correct location of its files.pls help me as soon as possible.

your information is a bit vague, but anyway ...

I understand that when you plug your phone into a Windows PC, it is automatically shown as a storage device, right? So it announces itself as a "USB Mass Storage Device" to the host computer.

Ubuntu and its kin usually auto-mount a USB storage device under /media when it's plugged in. So you should see your files at /media/<something>, where <something> is either a clear name of your device, or an 8-digit hex number, like 8E13-3CD6 (just an example).

Please have a look and tell if that's okay. Because if not, we'll have to do step-by-step research.
