News Stream In KodiUbuntu

Hello,

I'm relatively new to linux after having been introduced to it for the first time a few months ago, a couple of distros later, I'm addicted to it and cannot stop trying shit on everything.

I'm going to describe my problem, please forgive me if I use any of the lingo wrong.

Last week, I had this Crazy Idea, you see, I had this extra monitor lying around and a spare CPU. I thought I might do something about it. So after some research I decided that I'll install KodiUbuntu on it to convert it into a complete media platform.

Now I was thinking, if only I could just get an icon which if clicked/entered would give me access to a free online news program/video stream (whats the diff b/w the two, also is such a thing possible?).

Anyways thats how it is, so, can something like this be done? If so, please guide me through the process.

I installed the x32 version of KodiUbuntu, from this place.

Also these are my specs
  • Processor: PentiumD 925 (P) DC 3.0 GHz
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Motherboard: 945GCT-HM
  • Hard Drive: 500GB SATA 3G
  • GPU: NVIDIA 8400 GS

I would greatly appreciate your help and positive responses as I'm pretty guffaw in these matters please be kind to me and I'll be in your care.
