Newbie to Linux needs help with remote access
I've just installed Mint Linux on a box that I normally control with Microsoft RDC because I don't have a monitor dedicated to the box. I'd like to have similar access to Linux from other computers on my network running a client on a Windows computer. Does such a solution exist?

Sure ... most Linux gurus connect to their systems using SSH. SSH is command line only, although you can forward X11 (graphical) apps over an SSH connection provided you have an X server running on the machine you're connecting from (for a Windows client, I usually install cygwin and its X server). For a full-fledged remote desktop, VNC is always an option,

I've had a decent experience with FreeNX recently. It connects over ssh so it should be secure, compresses everything so it runs smoothly.. Don't know much about it but I set it up on my machine in less than 5 mins and it runs well.
