Unhappy newbie request

well, you see my problem is this. the only other person in my house is throughly against Linux, and all things related. which is making my "baptism by fire" situation with Knoppix a little difficult. i was wondering if there was someone on here with some time to offer me. where in i can ask all those annoying first few hours kinda questions to help my learning curve a little =) Thanks in advance.

The OP took the dive (baptism by fire) into linux.
He/She would like to know if someone could take some time and spend it with them, to ask all those beginner questions.

I belive your best bet is IRC. I frequent ##slackware on irc.freenode.net, but that wouldn't help you with Knoppix. Try and find a irc channel based on knoppix that is open to answering questions (not all are).
Another thing you might want to look into is finding a local LUG (Linux Users Group). Often times LUGs will throw "install fests", this would be an excellent for you to ask all those questions and get person-to-person help from other linux nerds.

Check out http://www.linux.org/groups/, it's a list of LUGs by country, state, etc.
If there is no LUG in your area then some open and willing people in IRC might be your best bet.

Nothing wrong with using a forum as a means of communication, but it's passive and it sounds like you need to be in active communicaton with someone.

I'd offer you my freetime, but I've never touched knoppix (and I'm still a noob anyway).
Either way, GL and welcome to linux!

I just realized that I read this completely wrong.
I thought you meant, I don't see your questions, but actually your saying post away.

Sorry about that, but my above post still holds true.
