Wink NEWBIE QUESTION,,,,PLZ Help me!!!!!!


HI,

I have RH 7.2 I able to use my floppy drive by doing mdir, question:

Can I put an ICON on my desktop that represents my floopy drive? just like the one for the cd drive,,I can't find that option in RH 7.2 and I have read the manual, but I can't findthe part where it teachs you how to make an icon of your floppy on your desktop...

Please help me....

What desktop environment do you use? GNOME, KDE? Or window mangers - WM, bb?

Open your file manager and find the application you want to run. Drag and drop it to your desktop. Read the Gnome Help (the question mark icon) on the gnome foot icon on your panel for drag and drop.

The desktop icon for your floppy drive will mount your floppy. When you use mdir and mtools, you do not use the icon to mount your floppy.. Read mtools and just put the floppy in and give the mtool commands. You do not need to mount the floppy.
