Question Newbie Networking

Can anyone point me to a good newbie source for naming a linux (fedora1) computer, joining it to the windows domain and maybe even configuring samba?

I am not having luck finding stuff that starts from the beginning.

there are a ton of posts about networking and depending how much into it you wanna get. When i first networked my computers i used gnosamba to get my config file in order and smb4k to actually get everything kinda working. I know i am going to get slammed for directing u to gui's but i found it much easier when i first started

Thanks for the info. One additional basic thing I cant seem to find is the command to join a domain. I have a home network W2K AD Domain. The Linux box with Fedora is my router/firewall and eventually my mail server. What is the code for joining the domain so I am not localhost@localdomain. Er actually I am <some server>.dsl-only.net

Thanks

as for the domain i don't really know, but it whouldn't be difficult to figure it out, just try looking at the samba man pages.

As for the location of gnosamba source, i have no idea but u could prob use alien to convert the rpm to whatever u need. I think
