First, might want to have a more detailed thread topic of your exact problem.

Second, have you tried searching this site with its great search function ?? This question is asked and answered all the time here.

my problem is

my problem is that i have recently as in 2 weeks ago switched to linux redhat 7.2 and i have almost no idea what i am doing in this os and am haveing a lot of problems navigating and when ever i try to install an rpm it says nautilus has no cabability of displaying .... so im lost. and the tar.gz files aren't unzipping
any help at all is very greatly apperiated

The best way to learn Linux is reading and searching as much as you can on the net, reading books.. etc.

Try this site out for help in installing RPM based packages: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/RPM-for-Unix-HOWTO.html

try
man rpm
this will give you a help page. Works with a lot of commands
to install an rpm
rpm -i xxxxxxx.rpm
You will be suprised how quickly you get the hang of it all.
