newbie needs cs reading list
 

Hey everybody.
This is my first post of hopefully a long Linux life!
Here's the deal: I want to start using Linux because I'm big into the Open Source movement, and I also want to start towards becoming a power user of sorts, maybe dabbling in electronic and computer engineering.
On top of that, I have been trying to figure out how to install Debian and I know . . . zip. I don't even know which number of binary to download, so I figured that I need to learn some more before I get into Linux. Can anyone give me some reading or resources to help get me started?

Ther best way to start is by running Linux...I would suggest getting one of the distributions that has a "live CD" version. This allows you to run Linux without installing it to the hard disk.
