Newbie need help in joining Open source project
 
I am a newbie here. Can anyone help me in joining an open source project. I m good in javascript, php, java but am an intermediate. Want to learn more.

Find a project that you're interested in, see if they're interested in more people helping and how they prefer you get involved. It differs project to project. Just like development methodology differs company to company in the traditional software model.

Do you have any links for newbies... I googled a lot but cant find something for a newbie.

Sourceforge and freashmeat have got lot of open source projects. And almost all of them need help in some or other way. If you have got time contact the project owner and you should be able to help.

I second the project at freshmeat, there is no such thing as easy, pick the one with a language you're most familiar with and there will be some learning before you can really get in and do a lot, review their code and go from there.
