Newbie: KOffice Installation

Dear All,

I am the newbie, i just started loading the Linux Redhat 5.3 on to my laptop few days ago. I downloaded koffice-2.0.1.tar.bz2 from its websit, and I now want to install this koffice on my Linux Redhat, but i found it's complicate and dont know how to deal with it.

Could you please advice or give me a step by step of how to load it?

Thanks you very much for your time.

Best Regard,
sanlen

Hi Sanlen,
Have you tried typing at the command line (as root)
Code:
yum install koffice
(or whatever the koffice package is called in RH)?
cheers,
jdk

Also, I think, 2.0.x is for KDE 4.x.

and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KOffice
Quote:
2.0.x
This release is mainly aimed at developers, testers and early adopters.
It is not aimed at end users, and we do not recommend Linux distributions
to package it as the default office suite yet.

KOffice 2.0 will be useful for some users, but since it is the first
release in a long series it is likely to contain bugs and incompatibilities.

It is noteworthy that KOffice 2.0 does not have all the features
that KOffice 1.6 had. ........
